From a very young age I’ve been someone who wanted people around me to feel comfortable and be happy. My mother often told me when I was 3 years old I would try to give almost anyone who looked sad a hug to make them feel better. That early desire to help people has only gotten stronger, and as we all go through life we learn things from experience, professionals and friends, who help shape us into better versions of ourselves. Everything I’m going to talk to you about is stuff I’m still practicing, that I have found incredibly helpful to stay grounded and focused in the world we live in today. It has helped pull me out of the abyss when I was depressed, given me inner courage when I had anxiety, and put me at peace when I was overthinking everything.
Some of it is rooted in science, some is a little more out there, but all of it I believe is true.
In the weeks ahead I will talk about my experiences as a gymnastics coach and all of the things I’ve learned and am still learning about behavior, willpower and a positivity. I’ll share my experiences as a martial artist and how that helped shape me into the person I am today. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with you and hope that it will help lead you to becoming a strong individual.
